It all started in the 1970s when a group of people with virtually no experience in the wine industry came to this fertile area to plant vines and see what would happen. Those original pioneers—Adelsheim, Ponzi, Erath, and Sokol Blosser, to name a few—now produce some of the greatest wines in the world. They knew that the red soil of the Dundee Hills—Jory—was something special. And they were right.
