A Rich History Rooted in Oregon Wine Country
You can never fully understand a vineyard until you know its history, and Woodshed Winery sits on a historic 26-acre vineyard first planted in 1978 by Jim McDaniels, with guidance from Oregon wine pioneers Dick Erath and David Lett. This was the early era of the Willamette Valley wine industry, and Woodshed Vineyard quickly became a key player in its evolution. Over the years, it has passed through the hands of several dedicated caretakers before Anthony and Lindsay Van Nice took ownership in 2018.
The Van Nices, however, have brought new life to the vineyard, crafting micro-lot Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and sparkling wines. Their approach honors traditional farming methods while embracing modern winemaking techniques. Today, the Van Nice family lives on the property, continuing its nearly 50-year legacy of remarkable viticulture.
